A photographer who already knows the light
I live and shoot here. I know which open fields hold the last of the light, which spots stay quiet on a Sunday evening, and which locations work when you have a toddler who won't last an hour.
It also means our pre-shoot catch up can genuinely be a coffee nearby rather than a video call, and honestly, that little face-to-face catch-up is often what helps everyone feel relaxed, comfortable and confident on the day.
Where my clients come from

FAQs
Photographing in the Hills District
Which Hills District suburbs do you photograph in?
Castle Hill, Kellyville, Kellyville Ridge, Beaumont Hills, Norwest, Bella Vista, Kenthurst, Annangrove, Dural, Middle Dural, Glenhaven, Galston, Arcadia, Box Hill, Grantham Farm, The Ponds, Pitt Town, Cherrybrook, Pennant Hills, Wahroonga and Hornsby. If your suburb isn't on that list it's almost certainly still fine, so just ask me.
Do you charge travel on top of the session fee?
Travel within 30 minutes each way by car of the Hills District is included in your session fee. Beyond that I may add a $100 travel fee, and I'll always agree it with you before your booking is confirmed rather than surprising you with it later.
Will you shoot outside the Hills District?
Yes, often. I shoot across greater Sydney, along the coast and in the Blue Mountains, and I'm always happy to travel further for the right location. The Hills is simply where I'm based, so it's where travel is included.
Where do Hills District sessions actually get photographed?
Outdoors, in natural light, somewhere we choose together at your pre-session consult. That might be open fields and bushland close to home, the coast, or a clifftop lookout in the Blue Mountains, depending on the kind of session, how far you want to travel and where the light will be best on the day.
What time of day do you shoot?
Sunset, almost always. That soft golden light just before the sun dips below the horizon is warm, dreamy and flattering, and it shifts through gold into soft pinks and deep blues as twilight sets in, which gives you a lot of variety from one session.
How far ahead should I book?
Sunset sessions book out quickly. I shoot on Sundays to Thursdays and answer enquiries within 12-24 hours of your enquiry. If you have a due date, an anniversary or a proposal date in mind, get in touch early and I'll hold it for you.

“This is the third time we have been lucky enough to work with Nerissa. She is first class and the quality of her work and speed of turnaround is incredible.”
